2023 polls: The youths should step out to contest – Rt. Hon. Marcus

At this moment, I am inclined to call on Nigerian youths to come out in large numbers to show interest in taking the reins of power from the older generation of politicians who have over the years dominated the political space.

The Not Too Young To Rule campaign has been running for a few years but it has always been a case of cheap talk.
Now is the time for youths to walk the talk and claim what they have always shown an inclination to do better given the opportunity.

As can be deduced from the recent electoral reforms, the new wave around the country is that politics will be taking a new shape from the 2023 general elections.

It is with this at the back of my mind that I deem it fit and proper to appeal to the youths to confidently step out and invest in the future of the country by participating in the 2023 polls.

Youths should aspire to occupy any elective political office in the country especially as they have the population advantage that will swerve victory in their favour.

It is not just enough to form coalition of youth groups, called youth wings in support of the old generation politicians. The gate has been thrown wide open for the youths to seize the bull by the horns and make hay while the sun shines. The game starts in the 2023 polls.

Signed:

Rt. Hon. Marcus Izeagbeaya Onobun Speaker Edo State House of Assembly.
