The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has advocated for more youths in development and governance as a way of catching them young.
The Speaker stated this when he received the State coordinator National youth service Corp(NYSC), Mrs Olubukola Abiodun and her team on a familiarisation visit.
Rt.Hon Onobun who disclosed to his guests that he is a youth advocate and mentor, said he would also include the NYSC to the list of his mentees, to help in character moulding as they prepare for the labour market.
He stressed that he would create an opportunity to mentor Corp members who may be interested in mainstreaming in politics as there is the need for youth involvement in Politics.
The Speaker disclosed his intentions to give more support to youth development agencies and galvanize friends within and outside government to contribute to the development of the orientation camp.
Earlier, the State coordinator, NYSC ,Mrs Olubukola Abiodun said the visit is for her formal introduction to the speaker .
Mrs Abiodun explained that it is also an opportunity to solicit support from the speaker and invite him to the orientation camp to get a first hand knowledge of workings at the camp.
While commending the state government for efforts so far at the camp,she appealed to the speaker to assist in the area of sponsorship and mentoring of Corp members at the orientation camp.
