In solidarity with the aspirations of the speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc to contest for the House of Representatives seat to represent Esan West, Esan central and Igueben constituency at the House of Representatives, some highranking women in the opposition, All progressives Congress APC, have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Iruekpen ward 6, Esan West constituency.
The women led by the women leader and her vice said they decided to pitch tenth with Rt Hon Marcus Onobun due to his dynamic leadership skills .
The vice woman leader who spoke on behalf of the women said they have been with the speaker since his days as a youth leader in the defunct ACN and decided to pitch tenth with him as he has never failed them . They prayed for his success at the primary elections.
Responding ,Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc , while thanking them for their support always ,said he would be a vocal voice that Esan West, Esan central and Igueben constituency would be proud of always as he is not going to warm the chairs at the House of Representatives.
Rt Hon Marcus Onobun said in the last two and half years of being at the House of Assembly ,he has done a lot for the people of the constituency and he still has over a year to do more .
The speaker noted that when he gets to the House of Representatives he has plans to change the narratives by working for a legislation that would help in tackling insecurity to curb the imminent food shortage of farmers are unable to go to farms to plant .
He explained that infrastructure and human capital development would not be left out as he intends to robustly engage himself for the benefit of the people.
He advised the women to continue to organize themselves and thanked them for the solidarity visit.
