The Ukpughele community Town Hall project built and equiped by the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has been commissioned over the weekend.
In his speech Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun ksc said the project was his personal project and not a government project.
Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun recalled that during his electioneering he promised to construct the town hall and their daughter Hon. Esther Eghaghe also drew his attention in constructing the town hall, to ensure the elders are given a beffiting venue for their meetings .
The Speaker also intimated the elders of his intentions to contest for the House of Representatives seat to represent Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal constituency at the house of Representatives, where he said he would ensure the voice of the constituency is heard, as he would be a vocal voice, a vibrant and dynamic legislator whose intention is to bring development to the Federal constituency.
He said he has plans to move for the speedy construction of the Benin Ekpoma highway as the hardship faced by the people is becoming unbearable .
He also stated that insecurity is another issue he intends to get adequate legislation on so as to give people in the area the opportunity to work on their farms without fear of being attacked .
The event at instance of the community was an avenue to thank Speaker for heeding their call to construct the town hall for the elders .
Speaker after Speaker at the event including the Former Vice chairman Esan West council Local Government, Hon Esther Eghaghe who commended the Speaker for his bold steps, developmental strides and human capital development.
The community elders who includes Representatives of the Onojie of Ekpoma Zaiki Anthony Abumenre 11 prayed for the Speaker, stressing that they have adopted him and his battle as theirs .
Highpoint of the event was the official commissioning of the project and prayers for the success of the Speaker’s political ambitions.
