The second session of the seventh synod of the Diocese of Esan Anglican communion has been held .
In a message to the synod of the Diocese of Esan, Anglican communion,Edo state Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki commended the church for it’s support of government in all its activities.
The Governor in a Goodwill message presented by the speaker Edo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc,said all efforts are in place to ensure the resolution of the issues at AAU Ekpoma

Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has delivered a paper entitled “the church and politics: a call to active participation in politics ” at the second session of the seventh synod of the Diocese of Esan at our saviours Anglican Church,Ebelle , Igueben Local government area.
Rt Hon Marcus Onobun in well delivered lecture called on the church to get involved in politics so as to change the narratives for the betterment of the voting populace,as well as societal growth and development.
The speaker urged the church to endeavor to promote the participation of it’s members in politics and political processes either as contestants or supporting the enthronement of the right candidates.
He traced the issue of leadership to the days of our Lord Jesus Christ and his disciples where they choose leaders to run the affairs of the disciples.
The speaker also advised all practicing Christians to participate in politics so as to ensure that those voted into office and party leadership are Christians.

In a question and answer session after the lecture the speaker, disclosed that to be in politics one has to imbibe three principles which has worked for him are availability, accessibility,and visibility.
He spoke on various issues including money politics and the ongoing INEC voter registration for the collection of permanent voters cards PVC.
The Bishop of Esan Diocese , Anglican communion, Rt Revd Gabriel Elabor, in a charge read at the synod with the theme :The Paucity of abundance, spoke on all issues affecting the nation with a call on Governments at all levels to rise up to put an end to insecurity in the country as well as other issues bedeviling the nation.
The Bishop also appealed for the resolution of the issues at AAU Ekpoma .
The synod was graced by all leaders of the Anglican communion , Bendel Ecclesiastical province as well as members from all walks of life.
