The Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun has congratulated all Edo people and residents on crossing over to a New year.
In his goodwill message, Rt.Hon. Marcus expressed his heartfelt appreciation to God Almighty for the gift of life and for seeing everyone throughout the year 2022 and also for enabling him and the other Members of the 7th Assembly serve Edo people most especially in the penultimate year of their tenure.
Mr Speaker, remarked that although the previous year has been somewhat topsy-turvy, it doesn’t negate the obvious fact that surviving and coming through alive deserves a huge celebration and total gratitude to God Almighty for the preservation of our families and loved ones.
He stated “Every new day brings about a renewed hope” and as such leaving the past year behind let us open our hearts and minds to starting afresh in this new year with a renewed hope that the year will be better than the previous one; both in Edo State and our dear Nation Nigeria.
Rt.Hon.Marcus thanked everyone who has supported, cheered, and also had opposing views about this present Government these past years: noting that all have combined together has spurred us not to rest on our oars in delivering the dividends of democracy to the great Edo people.
The Honorable Speaker reiterated that 2023 is a critical and pivotal year for all Nigerians being an election year and as such let us endeavour to make the right decisions in who we elect to pilot the country’s affairs; emphasising on the #NewDawn project and how it will benefit his constituency. He further encouraged all who have registered to aspire to pick up their P.V.Cs as it is their power to make the required changes.
