Speaker Edo state House of Assembly and member elect, Esan West, Esan central and Igueben federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun ksc has paid a thank you and reconciliation visit to PDP members in Esan West local government area .
Addressing state executive members, senatorial executives ,ward leaders from the 10 wards in the council area and local government executive members led by the chairman Mr Andy Ikhajiangbe, the speaker and member elect thanked them for the support before, during and after the March 18th Elections.
Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun ksc urged all to close ranks in the spirit of reconciliation as the in fighting within the party is an ill wind that blows no good for anyone, especially the party.
He called on all to support him as he is making himself available to rebuild the party; noting that before coming to the party, they were envious of the organizational structure of the PDP, while in the APC.
He appealed to all aggrieved party loyalists to let peace reign as the next trend is to join forces to make an Esan man the next Governor of Edo state in the spirit of equity and fairness.
” Part of what I suffered during the just concluded polls, was my support for the Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki. I support the Governor so that he would not call Esan people betrayals, but show commitment to him towards supporting an Esan Governor “
” For this we need to come together wether from Esan West, Esan central, Esan North East, Esan south East or Igueben , Esan is Esan,and we need an Esan Governor , we need to rally round the candidate to interface with other Senatorial districts to help him win “
“The differences should be laid to rest; and we thank the people for the success at the polls. This is a wake up call for the future of the PDP, and I appeal to you to also pray for me to deliver on my Electioneering promises towards a better and more developed okpebholo”
In his response, the leader of the PDP in Esan West , Chief Francis Ulifun, thanked the speaker and member elect for the initiative and congratulated him on his victory at the House of Representatives polls.
He used the opportunity to say a word of prayer for Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun ksc.
