….seeks federal government support with more personnel and intelligence
The member representing Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency on Wednesday 5th of March, 2025, moved a motion of urgent public importance on “The Need for the Federal Government to Curb the Incessant Killings in Edo State”
If you recall, EDO state has been in the eye of the storm in recent weeks following reports of killings of indigenes of the state going about their daily businesses and socio-economic activities.
The lawmaker brought to the notice of the house that dire insecurity menace in the state has resulted in death of over 34 people in different parts of the state. According to him, Edo state which is the heartbeat of the nation is losing its pulse due to the activities of “Killer Herdsmen”.
He expresed worry that these series of killings in the state has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear among Edo people.
He also lamented the fact that Edo State Government seem to be overwhelmed by the spate and frequency of these Killings.
The House was magnanimous in adopting the prayer of the lawmaker which urged the IGP to increase the number of police personnel deployed to the state and also heighten the level of intelligence gathering and security surveillance at different flash points of the state.
