….Reaffirms friendly legislation that will protect constituents
As the world marks Father’s Day 2025, Rt. Hon. Marcus I. Onobun, KSC, Member representing Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has joined millions in celebrating the unwavering strength, leadership, and sacrifices of fathers across Nigeria.
Rt. Hon. Onobun described fathers as pillars of families and silent architects of society, stating that their role in raising responsible children, maintaining stable homes, and contributing to national development is often underappreciated but undeniably vital.
“Fathers are more than providers. They are protectors, mentors, and guides. They carry the heavy burden of hope, shaping the values of future generations while building resilient communities,” he said.
The federal lawmaker emphasized that in times of growing moral and social challenges, fathers must rise as positive role models, not only in their homes but also in society at large. He called on all tiers of government and stakeholders to create more support systems that empower men to lead their families with love, integrity, and responsibility.
Rt. Hon. Onobun also acknowledged single fathers, grandfathers, and men who step into fatherly roles through mentorship and guardianship, praising them for their devotion and moral leadership. “The strength of any nation lies in the strength of its families, and at the heart of many strong families is a father who leads with love and purpose,” he added.
He concluded by urging young fathers to embrace their role fully and commit to raising children who will become responsible, compassionate, and productive citizens. “As we celebrate Father’s Day, let us honor the values of discipline, courage, and service that true fatherhood represents. Let us build a culture that celebrates and supports men who are raising the future.”
Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun reaffirmed his commitment to championing legislative actions that promote family life, protect the rights of parents, and invest in youth and community development across his constituency and Nigeria at large.
Happy Father’s Day to all fathers. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
