A valedictory session was on Thursday held at the Hallowed Chambers of the Edo state House of Assembly in honour of Elder Jonathan Aghimien SAN a former majority leader of the house in 1983 under the defunct Bendel state House of Assembly.
The Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Roland Asoro who stood in for the speaker ,went down memory lane , paying glowing tributes to the departed former majority leader, describing him as an erudite , articulate, intelligent and great leader who was a father to all.
Rt Hon Asoro in his eulogy gave instances where late Elder Jonathan Aghimien SAN played fatherly roles for him and all who came across him.
In their remarks other members including majority leader of the House and member representing ikpoba okha constituency, Hon Henry okhuarobo , member representing Esan south East constituency, Hon Ojezele also payed glowing tributes to the late Elder Jonathan Aghimien SAN and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The member representing Orhionwmon East Hon Nosayaba Okunbor read the biography of the deceased while also eulogising the late lawmaker .
Prayers were offered for the family, and the Assembly by Bishop Osadolor Ochei and Hon Chris Agbowanegbe.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of the Aghimien family ,son of the deceased Mr Emmanuel Aghimien expressed joy at the reception by the state House of Assembly.
Mr Aghimien who introduced other family members said they couldn’t have asked for more ,he commended the leadership of the house for it’s forthrightness .
Highpoint of the valedictory session was the filling past the casket by members ,led by the Speaker.
The valedictory session was graced by dignitaries from all over expecially Orhionwmon indigenes and the secretary to the state House of Assembly commission Mr Osahon Ahunwan.
