Edo Assembly passes a Bill for a Law to repeal Edo State development and property agency Law 2018, to establish Edo State Development and property corporation.

Edo State House of Assembly, has passed a Bill for a Law to repeal Edo State development and property agency Law 2018, to establish Edo State Development and property corporation, to acquire, develop and manage landed and other properties within or owned by Edo State and for connected purposes.

Deliberating on the Bill, the House resolved into committee of the whole to consider the Bill after an application by the majority leader Rt.Hon Henry Okhuarobo to do the clause by clause consideration of the Bill

After consideration, the House passed the Bill with the speaker Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun calling on the clerk, Alhaji Yahaya Audi -Omogbai to make clean copies available for necessary action.

During the plenary, the House considered the report of the House standing committee on physical planning, Urban and regional development to harmonize the three(3) Bills on Urban and regional development to avoid duplications of functions by Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje.

The report has five(5) findings and one(1) point recommendation which was considered at the committee of the whole.

Also during the plenary, the House received a petition from members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Edo State Chapter on the purported election of the Council, expressing their concerns, dissatisfaction and reservations. The Speaker thereafter referred the petition to the House committee on Youth development and to report back in 2 weeks.

Rt Hon Marcus Onobun, commended Members of the State Legislators for putting their best in achieving great results for the success of the 7th Edo Assembly.

Plenary was thereafter adjourned to 6th, December 2022 after an adjournment motion moved by the Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon. Asoro Roland and seconded by Hon Ephraim Aluebhosele.
