Nigeria Union of local government employees(NULGE) has in recognition of the passage of the local autonomy Bill in the 44 alterations of the National Assembly given awards of recognition to the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc and the 7th Assembly.
Receiving the awards, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc while dedicating both awards to God and hard-working members of the 7th Assembly, who in the face of challenges opted to remain in the Assembly to give the State a viable and vibrant legislation.
Rt Hon Marcus Onobun appreciated NULGE for acknowledging the role of the 7th Assembly in the Autonomy Bill and the 44 alterations which Edo was among the first six States to pass, vowed to ensure passage of people oriented Bills and resolutions.

He explained that the 7th Assembly which has the interest of the third tier of Government at heart, has moved for a vibrant Local government, emphasizing that all Staff either Federal or State should also be equally remunerated, as they are with the same qualification and not paid by the tier of Government they serve at.
Rt Hon Marcus Onobun called on them to ensure they have their PVC ready ahead the 2023 general elections to ensure they vote in candidats with the interest of the People at heart.
Earlier, the State president of NULGE , Comrade Lazarus Adorolor said the union decided to award the Speaker and the 7th Assembly in view of the role played to ensure the passage of the Local government Autonomy Bill.
