Rt Hon. Marcus Onobun commissions Medical Center(Redeem’s campaign promises)

It was jubilation and excitement for all Sons, Daughters and residents of Illeh Community in Esan West LGA, as the people centric federal lawmaker Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun KSC joined by other political leaders in Edo Central Senatorial District to formally hand over the fully equipped Illeh Medical Centre, to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH).

Recall, the Health care Facility which was initiated by the immediate past House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele was taken over as one the constituency projects of Rt. Honourable Marcus Onobun on assumption of office in June 2023.

Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun who is known for his astuteness and ingenuity decided to redeem his campaign promises by making access to quality healthcare as part of his top priority, which led to engaging with the Ministry of Health so that the Medical Centre can be handed over to ISTH in order to put the Healthcare Facility to better use.

The member thanked Rt Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele who he described as his elder brother for initiating and completing this well- thought out people oriented project, promising to work passionately to consolidate on his achievements.

He also added that all the Equipment needed for the Medical Centre to commence full operation have been fully supplied. He similarly assured the management of ISTH that he would work with his Colleagues at the National Assembly to ensure that all existing bottlenecks hindering their level of service delivery as a foremost health care institution in Nigeria are catered for.

The Lawmaker also assured the people of Illeh that he is going to ensure that in the 2025 budget, an Ambulance is donated to the Medical Centre to further upscale their activities.

In his remarks representative of the CMD of ISTH thanked Hon. Chief Joe Edionwele and Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun for this great project.

He added that this Healthcare Centre has further increased the Outreach Centres of the ISTH, and appealed to Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun to work with his colleagues at the National Assembly to ensure that more budgetary provisions are made available to meet the ever increasing demands of the Health Institution.

In the same vein the Chairman, Esan West LGA Hon. Collins Aigbogun thanked the duo for attracting such a developmental and people oriented project to Esan West.

Also present at the Epoch making event was the Onojie of Ekpoma ,Zaiki Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II ,the immediate past Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Senator Engr. Clifford Ordia FNSE, Former Esan West Council chairmen, Hon Monday Abulu and Hon Cheif Mrs Stella Okoro amongst other notable dignitaries.
