…….Applauds Governor
Godwin Obaseki’s gesture in raising the state’s minimum wage……….
On this auspicious occasion of the International Workers’ Day celebration, I extend my warmest greetings to all the hardworking individuals who contribute tirelessly to our society’s progress and prosperity
As a member of the green chambers representing the good people of Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben, I am deeply honoured to express my profound gratitude to the backbone of our nation – the workers. Your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment drive the wheels of our economy and shape the fabric of our society.
International Workers’ Day is not just a day of celebration; it is a day of reflection and appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by workers from all walks of life. From the factory floors to the offices, from the farms to the service industry, your labour is the foundation upon which our nation stands tall.
In the face of unprecedented challenges, including the high cost of living being experienced nationwide, workers have shown remarkable courage and fortitude. You have adapted to new realities, embraced change, and continued to serve with diligence and determination.
Let me also commend our amiable state Governor, H.E Godwin Nogaghese Obaseki, for his thoughtfulness in increasing the minimum wage of the state from NGN 40,000 to NGN 70,000 at such a time like this; This is a pointer to the fact that he is a listening Governor who has the people at heart and cares about their welfare. GGO is absolutely finishing well.
As we commemorate this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the well-being, rights, and dignity of every worker. Let us strive to create inclusive and equitable workplaces where all individuals are valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
I urge the government, which I am a part of, and the private sector to advocate for good policies that promote fair wages, safe working conditions, and social protection for workers. Together, let us build a future where every worker can fulfil their aspirations and lead a life of dignity and fulfilment.
Happy International Workers’ day and thank you for your services🎊
