The constituency office of Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun in Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area, was agog on Sunday, 30th November 2025, as constituents, community leaders, and supporters from Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben converged for the third edition of his annual empowerment programme.
This year’s empowerment exercise featured a broad range of support items targeted at improving livelihoods and boosting economic activities across the constituency. Beneficiaries received four Sienna vehicles, fifty motorcycles, one hundred deep freezers, one hundred bags of rice, sewing machines and twenty million naira in cash grants; interventions carefully designed to address practical needs and promote grassroots development.
The programme drew commendations, with attendees expressing deep appreciation for Rt. Hon. Onobun’s consistency and dedication to the wellbeing of constituents. Leaders praised his efforts in driving empowerment beyond rhetoric, noting that his initiatives continue to provide real supports.
Testimonies from beneficiaries of previous editions highlighted the long-term impact of the programme, with many recounting how earlier interventions helped stabilize their livelihoods or kick-start small businesses. The strong turnout at the event reflected growing confidence in his leadership style, which emphasises continuous engagement,accessibility and fairness.
In his address, Rt. Hon. Onobun thanked constituents for their steadfast support and assured them of his readiness to expand programmes that promote shared growth and development. Further cementing his standing as a representative committed to the interest of the people.
The event was graced by a cross-section of political, traditional, and community leaders. Edo Central Party Leader, Gen. Cecil Esekhagbe (Rtd), was represented by Prince Willy Shaka Momodu, while the APC State Deputy Chairman Hon Sylvester Aigbeboh was represented by Hon. Blessing Ebhodaghe, Majority Leader, EDHA Hon Jonathan Ibhamawu, Other dignitaries in attendance included Barr. Anselm Ojezua, Engr. Theo Okoh, Chief Omi Imoisili, Hon Blessing Omonigho, traditional rulers, senior government appointees, senatorial party leaders, local government chairmen, and ward party executives.
In a strong show of inclusivity, representatives of the Arewa, Oduduwa, Igbo, Benue, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) communities also attended, reflecting the constituency-wide reach and broad support for Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun’s initiatives.
