A defining moment on security with a sigh of relief on Okpebholo again as Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun KSC honorable member representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal constituency at the National Assembly begins the last phase of construction and completion of Iruekpen community police station, ward 6 of Esan West Local Government area.
Hon. Marcus noted that the growing challenges of insecurity necessitated the completion of the outpost to facilitate police operations in the community and environs.
The federal lawmaker insisted, the trending reports of kidnapping in Edo central in particular, unlawful possession of firearms by unauthorized individuals that has enhanced unjust killings of promising youth and unsafe farming areas for farmers, primed the swift intervention.
“Our concerns borders across all sectors. Making promises have become increasingly normative, but transcending the narrative must be refuted with empirical proofs and regardless of the what people may see of it, the goal is to satisfying the interest, desires and needs of our people.
“I am most optimistic upon completion it will give easement to the operation of the police. We are already mechanizing the legislative tools to gain approval for more security stations and as well channel resources for the equipment of existing facilities.
The councillor of the ward, Hon. Odion Akhigbe expressed the relief it will give to the officers within the division who already feel inundated by congestion at the old station.
