The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun KSC installed as Ransco Network Patron, a Pan African Initiative.
The short Installation ceremony was held in the speaker’s office.
In his address, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun KSC thanked Ransco Network a pan African development driven initiative for the honour, stressing that his journey to the speaker’s seat has been challenging .
Rt Hon Marcus Onobun said the challenges were made surmountable with the support and guidance of his colleagues and staff of the Assembly.
He said they believed in his capabilities and thanked God that he has not betrayed their confidence, making him worthy for the installation months down the line.
He promised to support the Network in their quest for betterment of youths, as the investiture was done without any financial support from him making it a genuine gesture.
Earlier leader of the group, Ambassador Roland Nosakhare said the choice of the speaker for the investiture is due to his proactiveness, relentless energy, Sterling leadership qualities, youth empowerment and great legislative commitment.
Amb Nosakhare described the speaker as an uncommon legislator who has brought stability to legislative business in the state.
He reiterated that the speaker has shown all youths that hardwork, resilience and societal engagement has its rewards in due time.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the investiture of the speaker as patron, presentation of certificate and award of excellence.
On hand during the ceremony was the Chief Whip, Rt Hon Emmanuel Okoduwa, Clerk, Alhaji Yahaya Audu-Omogbai, and Chief of Staff to the speaker, Hon Blessing Agbebaku
