Ahead the 2023 general elections,
Esan West and Esan Central local government areas people’s Democratic party (PDP), has innaugurated it’s campaign councils to canvass for support and votes for all PDP candidates .
The candidates include Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President, Dr Ifeanyin Okowa for Vice President, Senator Clifford Ordia for Senate, Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun ksc for House of Representatives, Mr Omonzogie Iheyen and Mr Aigveremolen Fada for House of Assembly to represent Esan West and Esan central constituency respectively.
The over 300 man Esan West campaign council was innaugurated by Deputy directors from the State campaign committee, princess Golda Orhibhabor and Mrs Suzanne Oyekpen, who tasked members to immediately hit ground running as the general elections are fast approaching.
Party members who spoke at the end of the event, were all confident that the choice of the members who make up the council are men and women of integrity, loyal party members who are burning with the desire to ensure success at the polls for the PDP candidates across board.
Special Adviser to the Goveenor on political matters representing Esan Central Senatorial district Princess Philomena Ihenyen, was of the view that all hands must be on deck to ensure victory at the general elections.
In her comments former Esan West council boss Chief Mrs Stella Okoro appealed to all members to give thier support to candidates for total victory of the PDP candidates in the elections.
Others including leader of PDP in Esan central Evangelist Adekunle Oboh and PDP Chairman Esan Central Apostle Matthew Ebhotemen all advised members to commence canvassing for support and votes for all the candidates.
Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc in his remarks charged members of the council who are made up of 10 people per Ward to commence canvassing for support and votes for all candidates, stressing that the party has an agenda to rescue Nigeria from the situation it is presently.
Mr Speaker emphasized that” the council is a structure for campaigns across the Four hundred and Nineteen(419) units that make up Okpebholo to ensure victory for all candidates from presidency, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun, explained that there is a change from the old campaign order, as members of the campaign council are to nominate not less than 100 persons per unit to ensure victory for the PDP candidates across board.
The campaign councils are headed by Mr Felix Obhakhan for Esan West and Barr Anselm ojezua for Esan Central, who in their remarks promised to immediately commence work telling the populace why PDP is the right party to vote for in the 2023 general elections.
