EDHA UPDATES: Edo State House of Assembly receives year 2022 Revised Appropriation Bill

Edo State House of Assembly on Monday received copies of year 2022 Revised Appropriation Bill forwarded by the Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for consideration and approval by members.
Twenty five copies of the Bill forwarded by Governor Godwin Obaseki is to notify the House of the 2022 revised appropriation Bill for their consideration and approval.

The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun directed the clerk to make available copies to members to go through while consideration of the Bill be scheduled for a later date.

The House during plenary also received the report of it’s Standing Committee on Physical Planning, Urban and Regional development, presented by the Committee Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje

The House at the Committee of a whole considered and passed a Bill for a Law to repeal the Town and Country Planning Law Cap. 165 Laws of Bendel State, 1976 and to make provisions for the administration of Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Development in Edo State and for connected purposes.

The passage of the Bill followed the presentation of the report of the standing committee by the Chairman and member representing Akoko Edo, Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje.
The Bill has five findings and one recommendation which is for the House to consider and pass the Bill.

The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun directed that the Bill be given a third reading while clean copies of the resolution be forwarded to relevant authorities for immediate action.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun also commended members for their commitment in ensuring the passage of the Bill and others which have direct bearing on Edo people.

Report of the House standing committee on security on a petition titled “Demand for Justice on the brutal murder of Sunday Igiebor and three others in Ukhiri community of Ikpoba – Okha local government area of Edo State signed by Barr. Victoria Ogiemwonyi slated for consideration at the committee of a whole was scheduled for another day as copies were not circulated to members for consideration.

The House then adjourned sitting to Wednesday 9th November, 2022 after an adjournment motion moved by Rt.Hon. Francis Okiye and seconded by Hon. Ephraim Aluebhosele.

Meanwhile, Students of Basic Medical Sciences Students Association , BAMSA ,UNIBEN led by the Speaker, of the 15th Supreme Parliament Ogbidi Rhema who observed the day’s plenary also presented an award of excellence to the Speaker.
