The Edo State House of Assembly on resumption of plenary today deffered the presentation and consideration of the report of the House standing committee on health on a Bill for a law to establish the Edo State Hospital Management Agency and for other matters connected therewith to a later date.
The Presentation of the report was deffered as the Chairman of the committee on Health, Hon.Emmanuel Okoduwa said the Bill is at an advanced stage and will be ready in one week .
The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun who aligned with the position of Hon. Okoduwa said the Bill which earlier scaled through second reading should be stepped down to enable the committee do a thorough job.
The Bill was thereafter stepped down for consideration at a later date .
A Petition on unlawful dismissal of some staff of AAU, Ekpoma referred to the committee on education also was set aside for a later date as the Chairman House standing Committee on Education, Rt.Hon. Roland Asoro appealed for more time to enable the committee tidy up its report.
The Speaker, Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun during plenary urged the House Committee on appropriation to tidy up its report on year 2023 appropriation Bill for presentation .
Also at the plenary, the Speaker Rt.Marcus Onobun drew attention of members of the State Legislature to publication of a Bill on single haulage and another on gender and equal opportunities urging members to study the documents ahead for a robust debate.
Plenary was thereafter adjourned to Tuesday,20th, December 2022 after an adjournment motion moved by Hon. Nosayaba Okunbor and supported by Hon. Yekini Idaiye.
