Edo House of Assembly speaker , members of Exco and political appointees hold interactive session

… Allays the fears of the people.

Edo state House of Assembly speaker Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has in conjunction with members of the state executive council and other political appointees from Edo central senatorial District held an interactive session with opinion leaders, traditional rulers and people of the district on the proposal of the state government to set up additional campuses for Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma addressing the fears expressed by the people.

Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc flanked by other political appointees explained that the interactive session became imperative due to the different stories Making the rounds that Esan people were not comfortable with State governments’ plans.

The speaker said his position in government is in trust for the Esan people who he explained are the ones who elected him and others from the district.
He stated that the interactive session is part of citizens’ engagement which will bridge the gap on governance.

Rt hon Marcus Onobun however commended the leaders and all for the peace pervading in Esan land as the people are peace loving .

He emphasized that having a multiple campus does not reduce the strength of the Ekpoma campus,but an opportunity to boost it’s academic activities with the addition of other courses like software engineering and other technological courses as well the additional courses on Agriculture and food production, and also will be a boost for the school’s finances .

After listening to various comments from those present at the interactive session, the speaker reiterated that Edo central senatorial District is one of the major districts which contributed immensely to the victory at the polls and is still very relevant in the scheme of things in the state.

The speaker said the interactive session is one that has given more insight into the issue at hand as the people have made their position known to be sure that government and the governed are on the same page ,with an amicable resolution to take back to the Governor Godwin Obaseki ,who he said means well for Esan people.

The speaker, including some members of the executive council and other appointees commended attendees for expressing their fears and assured that Edo central senatorial District would not loose it’s campus of AAU.

The interactive session also had in attendance women groups across Edo central senatorial District of the state
