Igue Festival: Deputy Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly Felicitates with Benin Monarch.

The Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and member representing Orhionmwon South constituency, Rt.Hon Roland Asoro has sent his hearty felicitations to the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpokpolo, Oba Ewuare II on the commemoration of this year’s historic Igue Festival.

According to a statement by the distinguished lawmaker , “The annual Igue Festival represents and reminds indigenous Binis home and abroad of their cultural roots. It is also an opportunity for spiritual and cultural reconnection and reawakening”.

The Deputy Speaker further implored well meaning Binis to participate in this year’s festival as a means of promoting and putting the ancient revered Benin culture in limelight.

He also prayed the gods and ancestors to make this year’s festival successful and seamless. He equally prayed them to bless the new year and continually prosper the kingdom.
