…Urges Nigerians to strive towards rebuilding the nation’s reputation
The member representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben federal Constituency Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun KSC has called on Nigerians to be committed towards rebuilding the nation to the desired glory as Nigeria remains one of the most blessed nation with diverse resources whose freedom and independence transcend in all spheres.
Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun expressed optimism in the nation’s growth as it affects his constituency amidst the dwindling economy and poor electoral institution.
He aslo tasked political elites to join the fight in upholding the democratic system in honouring the sacrifices of the Nation’s founding fathers – Herbert Macaulay, Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Ahmadu Bello – who fought for the nation’s liberty in achieving the milestone of freedom and self-governance.
The federal lawmaker further sued for peace, unity and adhering to the nations core values as a hallmark to a new Nigeria.
According to him “It is another time as a nation to reflect on our achievements and journey as we mark Nigeria’s 64th independence as well celebrate our resilience and collective aspirations.
“In doing so, let us honor the vision of our founding fathers, who fought for a united and prosperous Nigeria.
It is arguably correct that we still have a long way to go, but we are not where we used to be.
To this end, let us keep building bridges across ethnic and religious divides,
Fostering economic growth and opportunities for all whereby strengthening our institutions and promoting good governance.
Let us also unite to overcome our challenges and harness our diversity.
Nigeria’s greatness lies in our shared humanity and collective potential, which we must take responsibility in making conscious efforts in building the nation’s image and as well be patriotic.
Happy 64th Independence Day”
