Hon. Marcus Onobun representing Esan West Constituency made this known on Wednesday 3rd of February in Benin City, during a courtesy visit by The Parliamentary Staff Associstion of Nigeria PASSAN (Edo State Chapter).
The visibly elated Speaker expressed joy at how God has elevated him while assuring the Association of his readiness to promote their intetest rather than being a clog in the wheel of progress.
Hon. Onobun promised to prioritize the development and welfare of Staff.
He however attributed the much he has achieved to the robust and unfettered relationship he enjoys with the Executive, Hon.members and support of the staff of the House.
Earlier the Chairman of the Staff union Mr. Farouk Umar said they were on the visit to show appreciation to the Speaker for prioritising the welfare of staff.
He eulogised the sterling qualities of Hon. Marcus Onobun, noting that he had brought back the lost glory of Edo State House of Assembly.
Mr Umar Farouk highlighted some of his achievements to include the creation of 7 directorates, immediate release of the promotion of staff, expecially those who were hitherto stagnated.
Highlight of the ceremony was a presentation of a thank you card to mr Speaker.
Present at the visit include the Executive Secretary to the EDHA Service Commission Barr.Osahon Ahunwan, and members of the executives of the Association.
