The Speaker Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun was in attendance at inauguration of the first assembly of the Edo State Youth Parliament which was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Special Duties in collaboration with the House.
As part of activities marking the inauguration the Speaker Hon. Marcus Onobun had earlier presented a paper on Motions and Resolutions to the Youth Parliament, explaining the dynamics and processes of how Motions become Resolutions.
While addressing the pioneer Members of the Youth Assembly, the Speaker who noted that he too represents the youth constituency in the state pledged his unalloyed support to the youth parliament.
He advised them not to relent in speaking for the people, while congratulating them.
Member representing Ovia North East Constituency in the parliament, Uwagboe Osawe emerged as speaker while Sunset Sylvanus-Peters(Etsako West 2) emerged as deputy speaker after nomination.
They were right away sworn into office by the clerk of Edo State House of Assembly, Alhaji. Yahaya Audu Omogbai.
Also in attendance were the Chairman, House Standing Committee on Youth and Special Duties, Rt.Hon. Frank Okiye, Permanent Secretary, Youth and Special Duties, Dr. Mrs. Ehimwenma Joy Ebhodaghe, Hon. Damian Lawani and Hon. Blessing Agbebaku (Chief of Staff to the Speaker).
