The speaker Edo State House of Assembly, RT Hon Marcus Onobun has congratulated all women in the state and Nigeria as they celebrate the international women’s day today.
RT Hon Onobun in a message to women all over said ” there is nothing impossible in this world for a woman because there is an in-born trait of dedication to make everything possible”
The Speaker also noted that women are not weak as some may suggest, because God has created them with great strength in every sense and according to Eleanor Roosevelt ” No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”
Hon Onobun further stated that women are catalysts to a functioning society and enjoined all women to unite at every level to work hand in hand in creating a better Nigeria with a quote from an unknown source ” A successful woman is one who can build a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her”
He advised women to remain focused expecially in the face of daunting challenges of political emancipation , stressing that the theme which is Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow : Break the bias is apt as women continue in the fight to achieve Gender equality and 35percent affirmative action .
RT Hon Onobun prayed for the women and wished them a happy celebration.
