The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Amb Marcus Onobun, has congratulated the outgoing chairmen of the 18 local government councils in the state for their meritorious service to Edo people.
In a statement through his Media Assistant Amb. Ayemere Michael, Onobun said: “I wish to congratulate the 18 council chairmen who are handing over to their respective council’s Head of Service today after a very memorable duration three years in office, for their service to the people and their roles in deepining the tenets of democracy at the grassroots”.
“Your enduring legacies during these three years in office would remain indelible in our memories. Nothing can be taken away from you as it relates to this. The cordial relationship with the legislature during this period is worthy of emulation and appreciation”.
The Speaker, said the out-going local council chairmen had contributed their quota to the development of their localities, and urged them to remain committed to the advancement of their communities as they prepared to turn a new leaf in their political careers.
“As you journey into other endeavours I pray that the good Lord guide and guard you,” the speaker added.
