The member representing, Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun KSC has called on all well meaning individuals to join in prayers for the timely releases and safe return of the state chairman, Mr. Tony Aziegbemi from his abductors.
Mr Aziegbemi was reportedly trailed and abducted by some gunmen on 16th of March, 2024 , a distance from his residence Government Reserved Area in Benin City, the state capital.
Rt. Hon. Onobun noted that, “the abductors have been orchestrating their heinous act for quite a period to be able to defile the tight-knit security structures and surveillance apparatus in the state, to succeed in the unfortunate circumstance. It is no doubt the state had recorded several security challenges in the past, with an inclined record on kidnapping which has been consequentially curtailed proactively by the time tested security Architecture put in place by the state government”.
The honorable member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly expressed his deepest consolation to the immediate Family of Mr. Aziegbemi, the state party leadership, the state government, friends and all well wishers in this challenging moment.
He noted “it is unfathomable to relate with the emotional and psychological trauma this must have caused them.”
Rt.Hon. Onobun charged all security agencies in the state to foster better surveillance and fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act, without allowing any detail “fall through the crack” that will be relevant in his timely release.
The federal lawmaker called on all teaming members of the party, family relatives, state government and friends to join in seeking divine intervention in this critical moment, saying, “we hope the God who is omniscient and omnipresence would facilitate his quick and safe return”.
