The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun has reiterated his commitment to youth capacity building in the State.
He made this known today, 19, Jan, 2021 while addressing the executive members of Nigerian/German Center for Job, Immigration and Reintegration whom he accorded an award of excellence, in recognition of their role in youth development and empowerment.
The Speaker who thanked them for their diligent efforts in giving the lives of the young ones a meaning, noted that he deemed it fit to bestow such an honour on them, looking at their track records in the areas of fight against irregular migration, provision of vocational trainings, empowerment and job opportunities for the teaming youth.
According to him, the award was a call on the group to do more as biblically put, “To whom much is given, much is expected”, while pledging the House unalloyed partnership to them.
Earlier, leader of the group and the state coordinator, Nigerian/German Center for Jobs, Immigration and Reintegration, Mrs. Eseosa Okuku who received the award on behalf of the Center thanked the highest state lawmaker for the honour done them.
Recounting some of the achievements of the organization, Mrs Okuku stated that the Benin Axis of the Center was set up in October, 2019 and has since then been implementing activities aimed at creating employment opportunities for the youth in the state through the provision of vocational skills trainings, entrepreneurial and marketing trainings.
