Edo speaker reiterates plan by Assembly to ensure laws that would meet the security needs of the people are passed. (PHOTOS)

Edo state House of Assembly speaker, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc has said that the state House of Assembly would continue to make laws that aim at ensuring adequate protection of lives and property of indigenes and residents of the state.
The speaker made this known in an interview with journalists when he joined the Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Phillip Shaibu , members of Executive council, security heads and the member representing pop Esan North East 2 constituency at the house Hon Okoduwa on a fact finding mission of Uromi headquarters of Esan North East Local govt area after Thursdays bank Robberies .

Rt Hon Marcus Onobun ksc who described the robberies in 5 banks and the death of Five people as an invasion , said this is an eye-opener for security agencies to beef up security ,while the government continues in it’s efforts of ensuring adequate protection of the populace.

The speaker explained that the state government and the legislature would work in the interest of the people to ensure tightened security in and around Uromi to forestall a reoccurrence.

On Thursday five banks and a police station were attacked in Uromi leaving Two police officers and five civilians dead , while the banks infrastructure were destroyed.
